FAQs: You Asked, We Answered!

If you’ll be looking into moving to an assisted living facility for yourself or a loved one in the new year, this is a great time to learn more about our community. At Beverly Hills Carmel, our family-owned and operated facilities offer upscale accommodations, a kind and caring staff and high-quality amenities. We invite you to learn more about us with the following frequently asked questions about our facility.

Why Do You Have Two Buildings?

We have North and South buildings that both offer independent and assisted living. The only differences between these are the decor inside and some apartment sizes. You’ll find the same activities and menu available in both. 

What Paperwork Do You Require?

All we need from you before moving in is a Physician’s Report that is completed and signed by your doctor. You or a designated representative can sign our month-to-month agreement at a convenient time before move in.

Can I Do a Trial Stay?

Yes, we offer one-month trial stays to help you determine if our facilities are suitable for you. Keep in mind that the cost depends on which apartment you choose and the kinds of care you might require. All you need to bring with you for your trial stay is your clothing and toiletries.

Do the Apartments Have Cable and Telephone?

All apartments are wired for cable and telephone, but you will have to contact the local phone and cable companies to set up service.

Can I Have Guests for Meals?

Your loved ones can join you for meals for free during your first few weeks. There is a nominal charge for this after that. All we ask is that you let us know if you will be having guests for meals, so our kitchen staff can prepare.

Is Private Caregiving Allowed?

Yes, you can arrange for a private caregiver, as long as they pass a TB test and agree to be fingerprinted. If you need a caregiver around-the-clock, please keep in mind that there is a $500 charge per month.

Can I Have Lunch After My Tour?

Yes, we encourage you to stay with us for lunch after your tour. Just let us know so that we can tell our kitchen staff.

Can Your Facilities Accommodate Wheelchairs?

Our facilities are set up to allow traditional and motorized wheelchairs. Our Complimentary Car & Chauffeur service is also able to accommodate wheelchairs.

How Is Mail Delivered?

You’ll have a private mailbox where you can receive mail. Just make sure you change your address with the post office before moving in.

Are Private Vehicles Allowed?

If your doctor approves you for driving, we do allow you to have your own car at our facilities. We don't store vehicles, however.

How Soon Can I Move In?

We just need to wait for approval from our Med Office after receiving your Physician’s Report. After that, you can fill out our paperwork, pay rent and move in.
